释义	韋馱 wéi tuó梵文Skanda塞建陀音译的讹略。亦作韦驮一作'陀'天。佛教天神，传说为南方增长天王的八神将之一，居四天王三十二神将之首。唐道宣载其事，谓佛涅盘时，捷疾鬼盗取佛牙一双，韦驮急追取还，以授道宣。后佛教因以韦驮为护法神，亦称护法韦驮，并置其像佛寺中，着武将服，执金刚杵，立于天王殿弥勒佛之后，正对释迦牟尼佛。胡语的音译。佛教的护法神，南方增长天王的八大神将之一。在中国寺院通常将之安置在天王大殿弥勒菩萨之后，面对著释迦牟尼佛像。形像一般是童子面，身披甲胄，手持金刚杵。韦驮
