释义	重本抑末 zhòng běn yì mò中国历史上主张重视农业而限制或轻视工商业的一种经济思想和政策。战国时李悝、商鞅和韩非等认为农业是人民衣食和富国强兵的源泉，因而把农业称为本，把工商业称为末，认为重农必须抑商和禁末，以保证农业部门的劳动力和农民的生产积极性。这些对巩固封建制度起了积极作用，但随着社会经济的发展，消极作用日益增加。南宋以后，反对抑商的人也渐多。到了近代，反对抑商又包含有主张发展资本主义的新内容。
