zǎo yí huì zhàn
1940年5月，日军向枣阳、襄阳、宜昌地区进攻，中国第五战区调集主力部队对敌军实施反包围。第三十三集团军总司令张自忠率部渡襄河出击，在南瓜店遭敌万余人夹击，壮烈殉国。随后，日军强渡襄河，攻占襄阳、宜昌。6月16日，中国军队全面反攻，收复宜昌，此后双方形成对峙。
