释义	撣人 shàn rén亞洲中南半島的一支民族。主要分布在緬甸東部的撣邦。西元初，居住在中國西南邊疆和東南亞北部，並曾建立撣國，十四世紀時，則在緬甸北部建立阿瓦王朝。西元一九四八年緬甸獨立後，三十三個土司邦聯合為撣邦，獲得一定的自治權。撣人主要從事農業，種植水稻、茶葉、甘蔗和罌粟等。
