acclaim侧重称颂的动作,通常表示热情和公开地喝彩或称颂。praise 比较常用,侧重称颂的内容,指用语言或其他方式热烈称赞或表扬某人的品德 、业绩或成就,也可用来表示信教者对神的崇拜或赞美。

praise, admire

这两个词都是“称赞”“夸奖”的意思,且都可用于admire sb for sth 句型。其差别在于:praise是普通用语,而admire带有感叹意味。另外, praise可用于上级对下级的称赞,而admire则多用于平等者。
